Care and Maintenance of Your Equipment

Quality is preserved through proper use

At ARREGON®, we manufacture professional-grade Pilates equipment designed for intensive, long-term use.

Each piece is engineered with technical precision, respect for classical Pilates biomechanics, and carefully selected materials to ensure stability, safety, and durability.

Proper maintenance not only protects your investment, but ensures your equipment continues to perform at its original standard for years to come.

CORRECT USE OF EQUIPMENT (VERY IMPORTANT)

To preserve the integrity of the Pilates system:

  • No modifications should be made to the original equipment
  • No non-Arregón Pilates components should be used
  • External or unauthorized parts may compromise safety, performance, and biomechanics

👉 The system is designed as a complete unit. Alterations may affect its functionality and safety.

BEFORE DAILY USE OR CLEANING

We recommend the following checks before each use or cleaning:

  • Inspect screws, bolts, clips, springs, and all connection points
  • Ensure no loose or worn components are present
  • Regularly check springs for signs of fatigue or deformation
  • Verify all moving parts are functioning correctly

👉 Preventive inspection ensures safety and extends equipment lifespan.

SAFETY GUIDELINES

To ensure safe use and proper maintenance:

  • Keep hair tied back and avoid loose clothing
  • Remove all jewelry that may damage upholstery or become caught in moving parts
  • Never allow children to use the equipment unsupervised
  • Keep the surrounding area clear of obstacles

UPHOLSTERY CLEANING

To properly clean upholstered surfaces:

  • Use a solution of 1 part mild dish soap to 10 parts water
  • Apply with a soft cloth lightly dampened
  • Never saturate the surface

👉 Excess moisture may damage the upholstery and reduce its lifespan.

⚠️ Important

Do NOT use:

  • Alcohol-based products
  • Essential oils (tea tree, peppermint, eucalyptus, etc.)
  • Harsh chemicals or solvent-based cleaners

These may cause drying, cracking, or premature wear of the material.

STRUCTURE AND GENERAL CLEANING

  • Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth
  • Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh cleaning tools
  • Keep rails and structural components free from dust and residue

REFORMER TIPS (MAINTENANCE GUIDANCE)

Reformer Wheels

  • Clean and inspect every 3 months
  • Lubricate only the internal bearing
  • Do NOT lubricate tracks or external wheel surfaces
  • Replace wheels immediately if signs of wear appear

👉 Wheels must be properly removed and reinstalled using the correct tools to ensure safe operation.

Reformer Tracks

To clean rails:

  • Use water with a few drops of mild dish soap
  • Apply and wipe immediately
  • Do not allow products to dry on the surface

👉 Residue buildup may affect smooth carriage movement.

Springs

  • Inspect weekly for wear or deformation
  • Replace immediately if any irregular sound, tension loss, or structural change is detected
  • Never continue using damaged springs

👉 Springs are a critical safety and performance component.

    Leather Straps (Balanced Use Recommendation)

To ensure even wear and long-term durability of your leather straps, we recommend a simple maintenance practice often used in professional studios.

As there is a natural tendency for more right-handed than left-handed use, one strap may experience slightly higher levels of wear over time.

👉 For this reason, in addition to regular adjustment through the eyelets under the carriage, we recommend periodically swapping the right and left leather straps to ensure balanced usage.

    • Suggested interval: every 3 to 6 months, depending on intensity of use
    • This helps maintain symmetrical wear and extends overall strap lifespan
    • Particularly recommended in high-traffic studio environments

👉 A small adjustment that significantly improves long-term performance and consistency.

    PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

Proper maintenance is not just cleaning:

👉 It is part of maintaining the integrity of the Pilates system itself.

    Well-maintained equipment ensures:
